Cook Your Way Through the Winter at Pigalle

Shake the post-holiday winter doldrums at Pigalle's upcoming cooking class series. Chef and James Beard award nominee Marc Orfaly will be hosting four informative tutorials to help you while away a few wintry Monday evenings. Take your pick from topics like Middle Eastern Tapas or New England Seafood, or learn how to prepare the Valentine's Day Dinner for your sweetie. Classes, which include a four-course meal, wine pairings and a gift bag to take home, run from 6:00-9:00pm and cost $125 per person. Consult the schedule below to see which subjects speak to you then reserve your spot online.

Monday, January 16th
- Slow-Cooked Foods
This warming menu focuses on beef short rib, which shows up in dishes such as French onion soup with braised short rib and four-cheese crouton, and a Chinese-influenced "taco" with crispy short rib and kimchee.

Monday, January 23rd - Middle Eastern Tapas
Chef Orfaly will cook some of his personal favorites, such as falafel with creamy hummus, za'atar, olives, and feta; Syrian sausages with spicy red-pepper spread and yogurt sauce; and braised lamb shanks with mint and harissa cous cous.

Monday, January 30th - New England Seafood
The night includes instruction on fish preparation and handling, and courses like clam chowder, grilled tuna steak, and a lobster boil with homemade sausage.

Monday, February 6th - Valentine's Day Dinner
Learn how to make make bacon-laced oyster stew, rack of lamb, beef Wellington, and molten chocolate cake for that special someone.
