Da Vinci Ristorante brings the wonderful flavors and ambiance of Italy to its perch between the South End and the Back Bay. Chef-owner Peppino's menu blends modern and classic cuisine from his years training in Europe's Italian restaurants - beautifully presented antipasti as well as house-made pastas, breads and desserts.

The dining room, outfitted in warm hues of brown ochre, is simultaneously elegant and welcoming. An expanded bar area features low couches and comfy chairs where patrons can get cozy over a glass of wine from the extensive list or cocktails named after Leonardo Da Vinci's most famous works - the Mona Lisa or the Last Supper. During the summer months, guests are welcome to enjoy cocktails or dinner on the outdoor patio.

Shingara Peppino Singh

Chef at Da Vinci

Chef Shingara Peppino Singh at Da Vinci

Born in India, Chef Shingara "Peppino " Singh moved to Germany at the age of sixteen and lived with an Italian family in the German city of Hanover. Through this generous family, who owned a renowned Italian restaurant named Leonardo Da Vinci, Peppino was completely immersed in Italian culture and language. He trained with the best chefs, learning everything about traditional Italian cooking.

At the age of twenty-three, Peppino moved to Boston where he continued to develop his love for cooking. He applied his experience at the House of Blues in Cambridge in the early ‘90s. In 1997, he was offered the position of Executive Chef at La Campania Restaurant in Waltham, where he developed a tremendous following of loyal fans and established a name for his exceptional cuisine.

After ten years at La Campania, Peppino opened Da Vinci in Boston with business partner Wioletta Zywina. The restaurant, which sits between the South End and the Back Bay, serves a blend of modern and classic Italian cuisine and was recognized by the James Beard Foundation as a "notable new restaurant in Boston."
