Chef-owner Paul Turano brings his tried and true formula for suburban dining to Arlington with Tryst Restaurant, where the combination of an upscale yet accessible menu of seasonal new American cuisine and the comforts of a friendly suburban bistro meld for a thoroughly satisfying experience.

Diners, solo or otherwise, can snag stools or a high top table in the bar for a relaxed evening of food and drink - they can even catch the game on the unobtrusive TV. If they're in the mood for something a little more romantic, guests can get cozy in one of the luxurious booths in the candlelit, earth-toned dining room.

Chef Paul Turano at Tryst

At the age of 30, Chef Paul Turano is popularly acclaimed as one of the area's rising culinary stars. With three restaurants already under his belt, Turano's entrepreneurial spirit and culinary imagination have earned him praise from restaurant reviewers and guests alike.

Turano's first foray as a restaurant chef-owner was Olio, a 30-seat bistro in Canton. At Olio, he introduced his special brand of cuisine, which layers textures and flavors in artistically presented dishes. The popularity of Olio - and, indeed, Turano himself - earned him one of the highest possible Zagat ratings, putting Olio among the top-four restaurants in the Boston area. He also earned accolades from Boston Magazine, the Boston Globe, the Boston Herald, the "Phantom Gourmet"-to name a few.

In 2004, looking to carry the Olio culinary theme to a larger venue, Turano opened the much-anticipated Tryst in Arlington. The 100-plus-seat restaurant, features Turano's creative American signature style in an atmosphere that is warm and lively. After only a few weeks, Tryst received glowing reviews from the Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, the Boston Herald, and others. It was voted one of the area's best new restaurants by Boston Magazine, and was hailed as one of the most romantic restaurants by Zagat. Since then, Tryst has also been featured on TV Diner with Billy Costa and on The Phantom Gourmet.

Prior to becoming a chef-owner and restaurant entrepreneur, Turano was the Executive Chef at Tanglewood in Lenox. During his tenure, his responsibilities ran the gamut - from creating and implementing seasonal special event and restaurant menus, to overseeing a staff of over 50 employees, to handling the food and liquor purchases for the entire operation.

Turano, who received his degrees in Culinary Arts from Newbury College in September 1995, currently resides in Stoughton.
